License/Terms of Use (1.x)
Speo can be played and given to your friends free of charge, no strings attached. Unfortunately, due to the platform Speo 1.x is based on, and the use of assets to which I (Digi) do not own the original copyright, I can't declare this branch of the project to be fully open, even though I'd like to.
However, I can declare the following:
For every part of Speo that was produced by me (the scripting and most of the sound effects), I grant every user the right to modify them as they see fit, as long as attribution is given and the derivative work is for noncommercial purposes. When providing attribution, please credit me (Digi) and leave a link back to the project website (https://speo.bardcore.org/).
Unlimited distribution of Speo is permitted as long as attribution is provided and the data is not served through any for-profit mechanisms, such as ad-burdened URL shorteners or installer bundles. These mechanisms do not fit the noncommercial mold of this license. (Including Speo in a larger noncommercial software package is permitted, but only if that package itself doesn't violate the prior tenet.)
Please review the game's credits to determine the originators and terms of use of the rest of the game's assets.
If you'd like to create a work based on Speo that requires different license terms, you need an exception for a different reason, or you merely have a question about the game, please send an email to [my handle, as seen in the first paragraph]@bardcore.org.
